Quikrete completes the acquisition of Summit Materials for $11.5bn.

Quikrete , the largest manufacturer of packaged concrete in the United States, completed the acquisition of Summit Materials , a producer of aggregates and cement, for $11.5bn.

Summit Materials was advised by Evercore (led by?Roger Altman), 摩根士丹利 (led by Carl Contiguglia ), Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP (led by Evan Rosen ?and James Dougherty ) and FGS Global (led by Benjamin Spicehandler ). Quikrete was advised by 富国银行 , Covington & Burling LLP (led by Ryan Quillian ) and Troutman Pepper Locke LLP (led by David Ghegan ). Debt financing was provided by 富国银行 . CD&R -backed Columbus McKinnon , a designer, manufacturer and marketer of intelligent motion solutions for material handling agreed to acquire Kito Crosby , a provider of lifting solutions, from KKR , a global private equity firm, for $2.7bn, according to press releases.

Elon Musk-led group to acquire OpenAI for $97.4bn.?(WSJ)

An investor consortium led by Elon Musk offered to acquire the nonprofit that controls OpenAI , the artificial intelligence startup currently restructuring into a for-profit firm, for $97.4bn.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed that the company's board rejected the offer and has no interest in Elon Musk's bid.
