A mere thought about entrepreneurial spirit and the future of businesses
Creating a business means putting your time, your money, your efforts, and your availability to your family and friends aside at least for a certain period of time. Those who have the entrepreneurial spirit in their blood will make these sacrifices. To be willing is an important step toward accomplishing goals which makes it a component to success. A sportsman who concentrates all his energy and his will to win a race will not succeed if he does not have enough breath. The breath of a creator will be the assimilation of all the information necessary for creation. The experience obviously plays a big role and will be a very important asset of success; if the future creator does not have it, he will have to benefit as much as possible from that of the others during each step of the origination of his company.
In the business world, experience precedes, money follows, but the key word remains that of performance, which made Harold Geneen say:
"Words are words, explanations are explanations, promises are promises, but only performance is a reality, only performance is the best measure of confidence, competence and courage"(...)" Only performance gives you the freedom to evaluate yourself. "
In a society in perpetual movement, the company cannot be a static element. It must anticipate the movement, precede it and not only follow it, make it germinate without stifling it.
I think the company of the future will be more of a "nomadic business". This time-limited business will be product-based and the hiring will derive from its life cycle. The increasingly rapid evolution of technologies means that we must react more and more rapidly to meet the needs of the market. A market that is ephemeral by definition. The nomadic enterprise thus supposes the constitution of companies which fit precisely with the needs expressed by the market without having to keep Men full time employed. The idea of a "nomad" suggests that businesses of the third millennium will have to be created in twenty-four hours and will constantly focus on the best markets. The company will move with or without its Men, the employees will be considered belonging to liberal professions and will sign contracts according to a mission to accomplish. It will be "the no stress business". This may seem Utopian, but we must not forget that today's reality is only yesterday's utopia.
Strangely, this notion of nomadic business fits perfectly with the concept of a small business today, which focuses on dealing with freelancers and consultants in order to reduce costs.
What if all the big companies’ future objective is to atomize themselves? Here is an interesting debate...
