Merchant Coffee Cares about their Community

I had the most lovely meeting (and an amazing Cortado!) with Kimberly, the owner of Merchant Coffee in Ambridge, PA.

Kimberly and Merchant Coffee is a model of what it means to love your community. I'm proud to announce that Merchant Coffee said "yes" to being the coffee and tea sponsor for the 2022 Faith. Field. Feast. fundraising event to help end food insecurity from the Sisters of St. Joseph in Baden, PA. I'm grateful for the reminders of how love, kindness and care can bring a soothing salve to some issues that plague our communities.

Right here, in Beaver County, where I was born and raised, one in every five children don't know where they will get their next meal.

I can't tolerate that statistic.

In Merchant Coffee, there hangs a painting of a child pulling back a curtain to reveal a vibrant wall of art. To me, this exemplifies exploration and opportunity. No one can reach their full potential when they are hungry. Nutritious food is a right, not a privilege. Every child should have a full belly. Parents and children shouldn't have anxiety about providing food.

You have an opportunity to show love and kindness to your neighbors. I'm asking you today to follow in Kimberly and Merchant Coffee's footsteps. Become a sponsor for the Sisters of St. Joseph's event to help end hunger in your community.

Let's Love More.
