Mercedes introduces the most powerful SL of all time

This is the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance—the most powerful SL of all time. Its four-liter V8 biturbo engine is at the front, and the electric motor is at the rear.

That means the engine and AMG Electric Drive Unit generate a combined system output of 816hp and maximum torque (pulling power) of up to 1,420Nm, making it the most powerful SL to date.Acceleration to 100kmh takes just 2.9 seconds and there is a top speed of 317kmh

Helping to harness and enhance the drive is an AMG Active Ride Control suspension with roll stabilisation and active rear-axle and of course Performance 4Matic+.Standard too is a ceramic high-performance composite brake system.The lightweight high-performance battery is also at the back (above the rear axle)

And because the electric motor acts directly on the rear axle it can convert its power more directly into thrust.It provides an extra boost when starting accelerating or overtaking.
