Mentors and Coaches of the Industry…
Agreed that technology today teaches a lot.?Be it in any sphere or industry, google always has the answer.?The no. of apps created is more than the no. of children born per year.?In an age like this where YouTube and Instagram have become a source of income for anyone and everyone, why is it still important to have a good network of mentors and legendary professionals by your side to guide you in your career?
Not just animation, it can be any industry, technology cannot over-power experience.?People who keep themselves surrounded by knowledgeable flag holders of the industry, keep themselves surrounded by experience.?Experience of right practices, successful attempts or even some failed projects.?Technology can teach technique, but experience helps understand the soul of every craft.?
I have been blessed to be surrounded by legends of the animation industry.?Through my association, I have learnt small things about the techniques that actually add human character to a sketch and moral to a story.?Through their mistakes, we can learn what could have been done better.?Through their success, we learn to improvise and through their networking skills, we can build a stronger foundation for a lucrative business in animation or any other industry.
Industry veterans have walked a path.?They have seen the ups and downs, the storms and bright days.?They have faced the heat and cold of the industry.?Their stories tell of consistency, discipline, hard work and detailed craftsmanship that technology cannot replace.?Learning from such legends means, learning the actual art form.?
Make sure you are keeping a network of such mentors and coaches close.?They can serve as the compass you might need in times you feel lost.??
