Mentoring New Agents

Mentoring New Agents

As a Leader in your Agency, the Main thing is to keep the Main thing, the Main Thing: Help your New Agent get a Result as soon as possible. A Result creates confidence and Independence - Treat it as the most important task [Without neglecting anyone else].

  1. Provide them with the Right Tools for Success, the ins and outs of the Real Estate Industry through Formal Training - Such as C21 University. Include Training on their local market and farming area or the Niche they will specialize in. Do not waste time on this. It should be the minimum achieved before you get them into the practical stuff.
  2. Delegate some Responsibility that they can handle without all the experience in the World, like Hosting a Show day. Expose them to potential client engagements and following through with follow ups on a Monday Morning. There are plenty of back-end activities they can start without facing the world of Sellers and Buyers just yet - Farming Area research, copywriting for listings, learning your Business Operations and how everything and everyone fits in.
  3. Have them Shadow you, or your Top Performing Property Practitioner. The Person they shadow will include them in everything, listing presentations, canvassing, Cold calling, Meetings, Taking and Presenting offers, a seat at the Negotiation Table.

Once the Agent is ready to do Business, Make a Promise: "Agent, Listen, we are going to go out and get your first listing together, then we are going to get the client the best result [urgently], with the best service - Win win for everyone"

Lead from the Front, you win only when your team wins.

Brilliant... and having an extraordinary mentor...I can attest. This works better than a charm.
