Mentor
A short and sweet article from e27 again. Love it!
Having been a mentor and investor to some of the startups, here in Singapore and other parts of ASEAN, it is important to know what you need before getting one.
Don't go search for a free, non-committal, and worse of it all...a on-demand type of mentor. They need to understand the stages of growth that you are in or want to be in in the period of time.
The line between a mentor, investor, fixer, whisperer is getting blurred, so be clear on what type of people do you want to bring in to your startups too.
Don't leave everything to as 'it goes along'. You will just create unnecessary misunderstandings.
Also gear your people up that this person that be coming to your business, is here to create impact and along the way some maybe hurt for telling them the truth.
Not everyone can perform the same in different stages of the growth too. Some may be more suitable to step back and let others run, some maybe more ready than the founders to lead when expanding regionally.
