Dear friend,

It’s a big week for us at Centre for Mental Health as we’ve been in the Houses of Parliament launching A mentally healthier nation – a report proposing cross-government policies to improve prevention, equality and support in the next decade.

We at Centre for mental health have been proud to lead the process of producing A mentally healthier nation on behalf of more than 30 organisations with an interest in mental health, collectively representing millions of people.

With a maximum of 16 months left before the next General Election, we will all be urging political parties to help us build a mentally healthier nation by adopting these policies in their manifestos. Please help us by sharing the document and social media messages, especially with MPs, parliamentary candidates and councillors.?

At the heart of A mentally healthier nation is the call to eradicate mental health inequalities. Our latest fact sheet focuses on those faced by Muslims, highlighting significant barriers that urgently need to be addressed.

Mental health in the UK is getting worse. Sickness absence due to mental illness is soaring, rates of mental health difficulties are increasing at an alarming rate, and already overstretched services are struggling to meet rising demands. Along with over 30 organisations with an interest in mental health, we have developed a plan to address this and build a mentally healthier nation.??

We’re calling on MPs and parliamentary candidates to commit to implementing the policies we set out within the next parliament.

We can improve a lot of mental health just by taking a proactive approach to being nice versus a reactionary one. And, you don't need a government program to do so. ?? Amazing how simple principles have a huge payoff. Slicing and atomizing isn't necessary. Treatment protocols for therapy are relatively straightforward IF one wants to change and improve.
