Mental health at work
42.5 percent of Indian corporate employees suffer from depression or generalised anxiety disorder. The uncertainty around economies and jobs have taken a toll on mental health. The age group below 30 years reported a poorer work-life balance than other age groups.
More than half the world’s population are currently in work and 15% of working-age adults live with a mental disorder. Without effective support, mental disorders and other mental health conditions can affect a person’s confidence and identity at work, capacity to work productively, absences and the ease with which to retain or gain work. Twelve billion working days are lost every year to depression and anxiety alone. Furthermore, people living with severe mental health conditions are largely excluded from work despite this being important for recovery. Mental health conditions can also impact families, carers, colleagues, communities, and society at large. Depression and anxiety cost the global economy US$ 1 trillion each year predominantly from reduced productivity
Everyone has the right to work and all workers have the right to a safe and healthy working environment. Work can be a protective factor for mental health, but it can also contribute to worsening mental health. Work-related mental health conditions are preventable. Much can also be done to protect and promote mental health at work and support people with mental health conditions to participate fully and equitably in work.

Only when I clearly see that I stand at a point of tension, confusion, inner conflict, jealousy, hatred, lovelessness, If I do not realize that I am sick, how can I ask for health? So, first of all, there has to be self-observation, and that self-observation leads to an urge to be free of bondages. Once these two are there, then you also know, by the definition of your condition, what path you can take. it is not anxiety that bothers you but your anxiety about anxiety. Let anxiety come and go. Why must you plan to kill it or react to it? You energize the anxiety by giving it undue importance. You have given it a bad name! Why can’t you let anxiety be? Overthinking is a kind of imagination. Imagination takes you away from the fact of your life. Fear is never reasonless, purposeless. Fear is there to tell you about your insecurities, vulnerabilities. Fear tells you where you are not real. Fear is not an external object
