Mental health needs in Gaza
Almost all of the estimated 1.2 million children in Gaza are in need of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).?Healthcare and other frontline workers providing MHPSS are experiencing the same stressors and needs as their patients. Security is a basic minimal requirement for effective psychosocial support and treatment, but there is no safe place in Gaza. This report analyses pre and post-7 October MHPSS needs in Gaza.

Since May 2024, Niger has been facing its worst flooding since 2020. By 20 August, authorities had reported that over 46,500 households and more than 350,000 individuals had been affected, with over 200 deaths across the country. The risk of major flooding is expected to increase as forecasts show continued aboveaverage rainfall until the end of the rainy season in late September.
Heavy monsoon rains and flooding in August 2024 are considered the worst in Bangladesh in three decades. By 27 August, they had affected more than 5.8 million people and left more than 1.2 million people stranded without relief. Flooding continues to impede access, rescue operations, and data collection. As the floodwaters recede, there is a high likelihood of further structural damage.
