Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949. The month is observed with media, local events, and film screenings. Mental Health Awareness Month began in the United States in 1949 and was started by the Mental Health America organization.
At Be Productive Coaching, we understand the importance of Mental Health, so I became a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach in 2021 after realizing that most of our clients are feeling lost, frustrated, stressed, and unsure of the next career step. They needed a strategy to move their careers forward and reduce the impact this has had on their personal lives, but many also needed tools to overcome these feelings.?

"Tips to Avoid?Stress"
We all know that stress is a part of life, but it's important to learn how to manage it before it takes a toll on our mental and physical health. Here are some tips to help you stay calm and centered:
- Practice deep breathing: When you're feeling overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths to calm your nervous system. Inhale deeply through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth.
- Exercise regularly: Exercise is a great stress-reliever. Find an activity you enjoy, such as jogging, yoga, or swimming, and make it a regular part of your routine.
- Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can contribute to stress, so make sure you're getting enough restful sleep each night. Establish a regular sleep schedule, avoid electronics before bedtime, and create a relaxing sleep environment.
- Connect with others: Social support is important for stress management. Make an effort to maintain positive relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. Joining social groups or clubs that align with your interests can also be a great way to meet like-minded individuals.
- Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness involves focusing on the present moment and accepting your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Incorporate mindfulness practices such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga into your daily routine. - Learn to say no: Setting boundaries with others and prioritizing your own needs can reduce stress. Learn to say no when necessary and avoid over-committing yourself.
- Engage in hobbies: Hobbies such as painting, writing, or playing music can provide a sense of accomplishment and boost mood. Make time for hobbies that you enjoy.
- Take breaks: Short breaks throughout the day can help you stay focused and reduce stress. Take a walk, stretch, or simply step away from your work for a few minutes.
- Seek professional help: If you're feeling overwhelmed and unable to manage stress on your own, seek professional help from a licensed therapist or counselor. Coaching can also help.
