"Mental Health" Excluded From Travel Interruption Insurance

Shame on Travel Guard and AIG. In inquiring about potential travel interruption insurance, I was advised that one of the "exclusions" for insurance is that of "mental health or emotional issues".

In a society that seems to be turning to more open discussion, tolerance and removal of stigmas attached to challenges and issues related to mental wellness, I was truly disappointed with these insurers on their approach and stance related to this matter.

If anyone can make a recommendation on another provider, I would certainly appreciate your referral for follow up.

Here's to making more aware of Mental Health and the challenges faced. By continuing to shine a light on these matters, we can truly make a difference in removing the stigma attached to mental health and emotional issues.

A caution for those seeking insurance. These folks don't have you covered.
