Mental Health Awareness Is a Year Round Effort

In May, we celebrated bringing attention to mental health awareness. But it’s not an effort that we can afford to ignore once June 1st hits. Every day is part of the ongoing effort to rewrite the rules on talking about mental health.
Mental health education is a team sport — and we play it year round. May, with #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, acts like the playoffs. The momentum we generate is worthy of celebration. We connect with wide audiences, engage the help of powerful, impactful voices and host events that bring visibility to illness that often remain invisible. What Mental Health Awareness Month does is set the tone for the year ahead.
At Psych Hub, we believe that a story well told can change the world, and we’re living this ethos by creating free, easily-accessible videos that serve as the first steps to learning how to set oneself or a loved one on a path toward recovery and health — and we’re mobilizing some of the greatest minds within mental health education to continue to provide these resources.
Agents of change thrive in a well-cultivated community of advocates, which is why we’re adding more videos and more partners continuously. Meaningful change can be buoyed by large-scale, successful campaigns such as the incredible work done by many in the field in May, but at its core functions as a series of incremental changes that are happening every day.
For many individuals, symptoms can come and go. What can’t come and go is the support and attention we need to give to mental health awareness. Together, we can change the tide.

5 年I share your views. We do need to work together. We can not rely on a broken system that does not seem to have a path to improve any time soon.? If interested, we should talk.
Insightful share. Thank you very much. ?
