Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

This week is mental health awareness week, and I figured this warrants a special newsletter edition.?

We are halfway through the month of May, and we finally got some good news: The UK economy grew in the first 3 months of 2024, ending the shallow recession.?

Please fill? in 10 questions to help me! Thank you. More details below.

What remains is uncertainty.?

  • Uncertainty about he political outlook and direction in the UK
  • Uncertainty about the job market
  • Uncertainty about the war in Ukraine
  • Uncertainty about the conflict in Israel/Gaza/Middle East
  • Uncertainty is everywhere, and we are still suffering from the outfall of the pandemic

Work with me and sign up in May to get 2 free personal coaching sessions.

Our brains do not like uncertainty and prefer to have certainty. In order to achieve that, we tell ourselves stories, and we often "make things up". This can result in worry and anxiety, stress and ultimately burnout.

?

A recent report of the State of Mental Health in Sales and Hubspot state:

  • 3 in 5 sellers now struggling with their mental health
  • Stress caused negative impacts on personal relationship for 76% of workers and loss of sleep to 66%
  • 48% of workers are burned out
  • 61% experience elevated stress levels
  • 32% felt lonely at work

I am sure you get the picture.?

The regular reader of this newsletter knows that I am passionate about improving mental health for individuals and in the workplace.

My mental health courses which I have been running since 2020 help to reduce stress and anxiety, making people more resilient.

My coaching has helped numerous people over the past decade to see the bigger picture and understand how behavioural change lead to being more productive and become a better leader, creating psychological safe environments where (sales) people can thrive.

My added capabilities of psycho-therapeutic education aids to create a safe space for employees to talk in confidence and combat mental health issues.

With it being mental health awareness week, I want to ask you all to be more aware of your co-workers, friends and family. Stay alert and offer a confidential talk. Offer help or call for professional help, whatever you think is the right thing to do.

I also have another ask: I am writing a White paper about Leadership in Sales in uncertain times - very much in line with the above. Please fill in the survey to give me some data to back up my thesis that improved mental health will lead to better business outcomes.?

PLEASE FILL in 10 questions to help me! Thank you.

And that's if for this newsletter special. I see you again at the end of the month.

Until then,?

Volker

Volker Ballueder thanks for sharing and very important stats and info in here. Would be interesting to hear what the sales leaders have to say. I can’t make the 23rd and hope all goes well.
