Mental and Emotional Cost of Protests
Protests by their very nature are ugly. The purpose of a protest is to force another party to act in the way that the protestors want or to desist from a certain activity; also at the desire of the protestors.
Why do protests gather so many followers? Probably because of the seemingly inherent necessity to champion a cause. But what if you don't really believe in the cause? Does that matter?
Regardless of whether or not the protest effort is successful, an emotional breakdown in society is created, as a byproduct of the instability caused by the protest. How will the emotional cost and the mental health impact on society be repaired, following the protest?
Moreover, Protests should perhaps be taxed. Taxing of protests could be lucrative for cities. Protests happen often and usually involve vast attendees. Taxes on protests could generate money for social programs to restabilize society. Perhaps some of the money could be used to fund programs for mental health.
