Should we be at mercy of environment or build a new world for same….
Businesses, organizations (any kind- even families) can be consciously aware about response they are offering to current heavy recession. The combination of creativity and resources available build a culture for moving forward with positivity and mutual trust
Prior to day 0
Five missed call ( international) from a very senior person I respect immensely ….
“ I need your help! One of my ex-colleagues is not in right frame of mind. He seems suicidal”…
“ Sure Sir”,
“And, He can’t afford your fee…”
“I understand Sir!”
It took time to reach out the gentleman as he wasn’t ready to take help. But Yeah …Anyway, we started
David was fired by his previous company
He got another job, but since he was a new joinee he was kept on hold. No salary, not even basic from employer.
EMIs , two kids school fee, Spouse is not working so each month cash deficit was around 60% .
I invited to him to join my ongoing program for Entrepreneurs who were immensely affected by COVID-19 Crisis.
Day 1- Our discussion was revolving around
The realty and realistic questions. ……………,“What ‘s happening to us ?”
“What are our stimuli?”
We discuss about economy, powerful environmental pressure, widespread unemployment and laying-off incidences,
By the end of day we were discouraged and sad.
Day 2:
We discussed about future .. we all studied environmental trends with the underlying reactive assumptions that those things would create their future..
We were not just depressed but anxious too now…and were aware that things are going to be worse before getting better.
(I really wanted them to feel suffocated,….because that’s the time you overcome your pain and try to dive out of the whirlpool you created in your mind)
So on Day-3
We discuss about the
“The Today” and our ability to respond to current situation? What can we do? How would we go ? We discussed practical and doable things…
Excited, hopeful and conscious about our responses and initiatives.
But next morning reactive minds started troubling again ? and we had to reassure our mind we did analysis of past and future projection also then we concluded our responses…
And we chose to move forward slowly and happily…
I asked David two questions which I want everyone else to answer honestly whenever life is in crisis
1- Do you really think you are incapable to rebuild your life?
2- Do you think your children will not be succeeding if they do home schooling?
Imagine the worst first and see what are the solutions / alternatives available. Identify your current resources i.e.-Your strengths?
Trust me they are your current most important and critical resources.
Now if you don’t have a job
Identify what is current need of market for which people would love to pay….
And do you possess any skill or resource to fit in..
And the good news is..you definitely have at least one excellent skills,
If you are people centric you can definitely a good leader and can lead your team in crisis
If you are a process centric…see what is required in the moment and create a mix of process and people.
Crisis is global ….first time in history..all same and hence number of opportunity is going to be higher for those who are sharpening their saws
Day 15 Today he wrote
“Dear Ma’am!
When my wife reached out to Sir for my mental condition, Sir suggested your name, and I was reluctant to see any counselor,
Then Sir added, “she is not a mere counselor she is a strategist ...she’ll cleanse you first from inside and
Then will help you to rewrite your destiny, and thank you for your support you did.
I have started without being fear and income had start flowing….Thank you!”
