Men are the solution ....
Last year when lockdown hit I decided to develop a new offering to help women get a seat on a board.?I got some real clarity on what I’m really frustrated with.?Clever women not getting a seat at the table.?So, I’m working with women.?That’s it!
Over the past 12 months I have had three mentors and coaches that I highly respect call me out for not including men in the work I do.?Mmmm - I disagreed, ignored them until I could no longer do that.
‘Don’t shut men out Helen’ Mary pleaded.?‘They want to work with strong women to help them work better with women in the workplace and elevate them to board roles.?There are men out there who want to contribute and are stuck with how they do that in this current environment.’
I disagreed strongly.
Then more pressure from John ‘Why are you not working with men??Does not seem right … ‘ he said.?He even found another opportunity to challenge me further.
I dug my heels in further.
Now I don’t know about you but when I hear a message once …….?and then twice I start to listen up a bit. ?

First it comes with a feather, then a brick and the third is always a Mac truck for me. (Oprah tells a story about listening to intuition the first time instead of waiting to be hit by the truck!)
Then Mack truck came in a conversation with Ashkan ‘for what reason would you exclude those who actually want to be a contribution to this very issue?’?I had no response.?It made sense to me.?Ashkan is the CEO of Engenesis and author of ‘Being’. You can get yourself a copy here?
I was so wrong.?Tunnel vision at its best.
In the midst of all this, I’m making more connections on LinkedIn with men, getting?more messages enquiring about coaching (not dating - that happens on insta and facebook)?End result is that I am working with men who want to be a contribution to this very issue.?It’s rewarding and important work.
I could not have imagined it would turn out this way.?Who knew????
What I do know for sure is that having knowledge on your Influence Indicator is a crucial piece of how you connect an influence to achieve the desired outcome.?That applies to both men and women. Want access to it? Send me a message and I'll get it to you.

3 年The problems in our community don't stem from either male or female. They stem from greed, control and fear. These entities simply employ humans, of both sexes, to reek their devastation. Setting one sex against another is simply a means to deflect attention from themselves. Solution; Choice. We can all choose to surrender our beings as a home for these entities and allow them to continue to foster their devastation OR we can reject them and choose to love, truth, integrity and generosity of spirit. This latter choice defuses their power. So, to my mind, there is no point engaging in radical feminism or any form of -ism. Simply love. Then the rest takes care if itself.
