Mark 14:12-16, 22-26:
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples said to him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?” He sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city and a man will meet you, carrying a jar of water. Follow him. Wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”‘ Then he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Make the preparations for us there.” The disciples then went off, entered the city, and found it just as he had told them; and they prepared the Passover. While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many. Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” Then, after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Blog:
In most Bibles, Jesus’ Words are usually highlighted in red ink, so that they stand-out from the pages that they’re written upon. They’re meant to catch our attention and, within His Words, are the answers to all of the things that we need to know and do as Believers in Jesus. If we were to do a Bible Study exclusively on the Words in red, we’d know everything that we need to know in this world to prepare ourselves for the Next World. We’re all meant to use those Words as an Eternal Roadmap Home to Heaven. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are very deliberate and their Messages are pretty clear to those who read the Gospels in today – even the Parables. Anyone that finds them confusing simply needs to humble themselves and ask God for the Wisdom to know what it is that He wants us to know. While our interpretations of Scripture will vary and change over time, they are always correct when guided by the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ Words are not meant to be put into a box for one person’s interpretation only. The Words in red are meant for each and every one of us to uniquely-experience. So, if we find ourselves wandering off-course, let’s get back to the Roadmap that brought us to earth in the first place. It’s the only Roadmap that will lead us all Home.
