John 15:9-17:
Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.”
Blog:
Too often in life, we get caught-up in our own selves – you know, the “universe of me”… We forget the “why are we here” part way more than we’d like to admit. We all do it at times; no matter where we are in our Faith Journey(s). When we see the world and the people around us through our own lenses, we lose our Spiritual Focus and the images are often blurred and exaggerated. God’s Vision of all that is in the world is much different than what we see. In the Gospel, Jesus reminds us of the Eternal Prescription to maximize our vision. We are simply to love and then, even when the world tries to knock our Godly-Glasses off of our faces, we are to remain in love. The Father’s Love is a universal Thing for everyone – it doesn’t matter who we are, where we’re from, what we’ve done, etc. He Loves us always. In fact, He Loves us so much that, even though we sometimes refuse to wear our Spiritual-Glasses, He enters our world, so that we can see Him (through His Son) more clearly (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). So, as we continue to meander through this world, let’s be sure not to lose our Spiritual-Glasses and try to see things as God does. This kind of Focus allows us to live a life of Love. While Faith doesn’t make things easy, It certainly makes them possible (Matthew 19:26). After all, He chose and created all of us to love Him and love each other. And, like an obedient child, when we love like Him, we can ask our Father in love for anything in His Name.

If you've never had a relationship with Jesus Christ (or, if you've drifted a bit in your relationship with Him), please consider opening your heart up to Him and accepting Him as your King and Savior. By seeking Him, He will meet you and love you where you are; and, your life will never be the same.
