Memory of Nations

For many years I have volunteered my time contributing to the free and open source content management system Drupal. I enjoy the sense of being a part of something which is bigger than you. That by investing a little of my time, along with thousands of others, it culminates into something significant and often in unintended ways.

Every once in a while I discover a use of Drupal which stops me in my tracks, fills me with pride. The Memory of Nations just did this for me. It is a massive collection of memories of historical witness relating to war, the holocaust, Nazism, Communism from a very personal perspective.

Such a valuable and significant body of work, ensuring oral history of atrocities and bravery are retained for all time. Made possible through Drupal and created with software created by thousands of developers, normal people like me. Realising this I hope maybe if you are involved in Drupal you may be inspired to contribute (more).
