In Memory of a Marketing Man

In Memory of a Marketing Man

To get the newsletter up and running again, as we head to the end of the summer, a tribute to the truly great Tim Ambler (1937- 2024) who passed 3rd August. RIP.

I'll be picking up the pace again from here on, in particular adding selected recordings of my own books and essays, interviews with leadership, and podcasts.

This is such a great read Michael - some important general points and a superb way of thinking about Tim (like you he was a great writer and thinker). 'Astringent' is an excellent word, and it's brilliant to re-read his perspectives, still so on point. I'd forgotten the elephant analogy; so simple, so helpful.

I met Tim on a few occasions at LBS, he helped review some of my early ideas around marketing strategy, operations and measurement - a truly great man, a great loss to marketing and academia. Sadly missed.
