Memories remain as long as we have hope, tomorrow awaits

Memories remain as long as we have hope, tomorrow awaits

Today is here, yesterday is gone and tomorrow is just round the corner. But what really is time? We have divided time into past, present and future. But if we closely observe our own life we will be surprised to know that we almost always live in the past bypassing the present. The time called present is a very very thin line in between the past and the future and it moves in so tremendous a speed that, it is very difficult to stand on its first moving current. Before going to different parts of time, let us first try to understand what is time.

And what is time ? Is it a truth ? Is there really anything called time? There is of course space and there is continuous movement and change in it. There is also a birth or beginning of space , as science says, so there must be an end of it. There is beginning and end of things, birth and death of life. From this beginning and end , the concept of time is born, otherwise there is nothing called time.

Time is therefore considered as a concept of human mind to measure the rate of change of things, of life. Change is continuous and happening at this very moment which is called the present. So there is only one state of time, the present. Present is the only truth of time. There is nothing called past or future of time. Past and future are nothing but the expansion of time by the human mind.

And what we call past is just a heap of memories, an accumulation of memories lived or experienced by our senses in the time present, the reality of life. The present, the reality of life is moving or changing in such a tremendous speed , that we are not sensitive enough or our sense organs are not strong enough to live the present, live the realities of life always, each and every moment. So the mind collects and stores them as memories to live them again and again at leisure.

These memories are lived or recurred as thoughts. To summarise, past is just a bunch of memories and thoughts, a reality that has already become a thing of the past, a dead thing, a death. And it is a paradox and also a matter of great surprise that all lower animals live in the present, live there realities sensitively but man having all abilities and sensibilities to live the realities of life live almost always in the past, in thoughts, in memories. Man lives not life but lives death. This is indeed a serious problem of human life and it is of utmost necessity to explore the cause and remedy of it.

And to live in the present is therefore the remedy. To live in the present one has to live life from moment to moment sensitively with full awareness. To live in the present means to be aware of all your feelings and sensations arising and passing away in your body. Are you aware of your respiration , the breathing in and breathing out, which is always the action of the present.

Try to concentrate on your breathing and see the result. Also change your surroundings because sometimes, all you need is a new start. If you are around that surrounding where everything reminds you of your bad past, it will be difficult to move on. Hence change the place where you live or spend most of your time. This will make you analyse new places and meet new people. Therefore, a fresh start always gives you some new ideas to work upon.

There is no other way to see yourself recovering and becoming an entire new version of yourself and you will start valuing yourself. See what ever happens, happens for good and that’s really true. Right now you need time for your self and nothing is better than this. Start accepting yourself and don’t be afraid of walking alone in life. Get yourself a club membership and plan your meals in advance ,wear good looking cloths and pump up your daily life !!

After bath start the day with prayers and by worshipping god as a morning ritual,it creates lot of positivity in your mind. Early morning prayers always give you a good start of the day. This will help you to have a firm belief that god will take care of everything and you paid the prize for your deeds. Apart from that it gives a kickstart to your day and you will feel positive. Learn to stay away from past till you heal and also do not for god sake, contact people from past you have issues with. It will do more emotional damage than good. You wanna move on ? So move on in life !! No point in digging the old graves, you will just find ashes.

Reading is a good healing exercise for your mind and soul. Start reading some good books. After going cold turkey and not messing up with your present, you will have a lot of time for yourself. Do some research, ask your geeky friends about good beginner must read books. I can name a few :-

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The alchemist by Paulo Coelho

The Zahir by Paulo Coelho

The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F#*k by Mark Manson

Winners Stand Alone by Paulo Coelho

Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

The Power Of Sub-Conscious mind by Joseph Murphy

All of these books would change the way you think about your life and give you a fresh new start in life. It is also a good idea to start giving to people without reason. it will help you heal yourself to give to the needy people before they ask you for help. Help others to come out of their issues and Fears. When you help someone, you help yourself. This will make you realise that you are a good person with moral values and have an ability to forgive, forget and learn from your mistake.

Start practicing meditation and yoga every morning. It helps and heals from the inside which will reflect outside. Your body is proportional to the state of your mind, so keep it active. Start every morning with affirmations to the universe. ‘Thank you God for this beautiful morning’ ‘I’m full of joy, happiness and content, I’m ever so grateful’ I am happy and peaceful and I believe that peace will come to my mind forever. Cheers!

KISHORE SHINTRE Dwelling on the past is what most of us do not wish to indulge in. We always want that our slate is clean and we commence our journey for today and tomorrow with the hope that the days would be brighter and more rewarding than the days gone by. We however miss out is that we do not even like to glance backwards. We must reflect on what mistakes we committed? We need to use the ‘pause’ button to ponder on the past. Without this, we cannot get healed. Hurts, emotional upsets must be repaired and?healing?is the best course to accomplish it. The essence of life directs us not to hide our history from our own self in our bid to always clinging to our present. Right that we should not dwell on our past but we can also not relegate all the past to the dust heap and forget.
