I tried creating a top 10 list and quickly realized had written so many… Here is my narrowed list of 20 moments from my “Year of Yes” :).
- Having one of the biggest belly laughs in my life with a friend on the way home from seeing the Northern Lights in Finland
- Seeing a concert at the beautiful Royal Albert Hall in London
- Spending countless hours playing Rummikub, doing puzzles and watching Hallmark movies with my parents
- Hearing my financial advisor say that I will be ok and encouraging me to take as much time off as I want
- Hugging friends at the funeral of one of the best men I have ever known
- Seeing beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the ocean in Bali
- Glamping for the first time with a couple of my favorite friends from Utah
- Completing (aka surviving) a bathroom renovation 20 years in the making
- Driving with the top down and singing at the top of my lungs in wine country
- Walking and talking with a favorite friend followed by epic power naps in Peru
- Trying coffee for the first time in Columbia (for those curious, I will stick to my hot chocolate – coffee is not for me!)
- Getting the test results that showed my LDL cholesterol decreased by 49 points by focusing on eating better and walking daily over six months
- Making time to see my niece ride horses and my goddaughter play volleyball & soccer
- Exploring new places on my third trip to New Zealand (my all-time favorite) with a highlight of a glacier heli-hike
- Remembering why childhood friendships are the very best with a short getaway in the North Carolina mountains…talking and laughing for hours on end like we were 12 again
- Hitting my 1500th Pure Barre class with so many strong women by my side
- Starting to date again
- Talking daily about anything and everything with my college bestie
- Re-reading one of my favorite books and sipping pina coladas in St Croix
- Finally prioritizing me…
I have a bunch more travel with friends & family planned over the next five months, but will be ready to come back stronger than ever soon!
As Abraham Lincoln once said: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”? So very true!
