Memories of building a family business

I was going through my photos, and I found the two pictures on the top left, me 19 years ago ready to pop and the boys six weeks old, a few weeks later.?I was still working full time right up until the day before the boys were born. I had twin boys, Nathan, and Josh.?Wow, how fast the time has passed, and how much the boys (and Euro Pumps) have grown.?

Like a lot of family business, the boys were involved with Euro Pumps throughout their childhood and teen years, helping around the shed and sometimes coming with me on trips and inspections.?They were learning the old fashion way, by watching what we were doing and hearing about the projects that we were working on.?They were always interested to learn about what was happening in the food industry and where our food comes from, it’s been a wonderfully, busy experience seeing them grow up.

Today the boys are 19 years old,

Josh is doing a Fitter and Turners Apprenticeship with us, learning a lot of new skill’s doing pump and swivel rebuilds, installs, maintenance and a building industry knowledge and experience working onsite at plants.?

While Nathan is studying electrical engineering at QUT and does our PLC programming, electrical, solid works drawings and helping with the trolley assembly and commissioning as his studies allow.?

It’s been rewarding as a parent watching them make suggestions and design contributions to our latest products. Watching Nathan and Josh work together to assemble the trolleys, and then seeing them workout design improvements and ways of speeding up assembly. It has been wonderful watching them grow up and now it’s great working with them and teaching them the business and our values, knowing that their training ensures Euro Pumps customers will have reliable support for many years to come.?
