Memorial Day: Will we honor their sacrifice?

They died fighting for our Nation.  Will we let that supreme sacrifice be for nothing?

Memorial Day is for honoring those who have fallen in the service of our Nation.  On this day, let us be urgently reminded, now more than ever, that freedom isn’t free.  Our generation is currently entrusted with carrying that torch of liberty our forefathers lit in 1776.  It is our sacred duty to ensure that the blessings and freedoms that we have enjoyed do not become extinguished because we lack the courage to speak up, stand up, and if necessary, fight for what is right and good about America.

Like every other country in the world, the USA is not perfect, BUT I would challenge anyone to provide an example of a governmental construct that has done more for its people and the world.  The constitutional republic we have inherited has advanced and protected freedom, fought against tyranny, hunger and poverty around the world, unleashed innovation, and protected our God given rights more than any other form of government in human history.

All of this has been maintained at a great cost in blood and sacrifice.  We cannot allow our pursuit of personal comfort, security and convenience to continue at the expense of the liberty we have been entrusted to defend.  It is our moral obligation to those who came before us, as well as to our children, and grandchildren, to pick up that torch, pray for strength and wisdom, and defend our great nation and its heritage.  We cannot allow a single Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman to have died in vain.
