My dear son, as I got you ready for bed this morning, amidst our prayers and your favorite lullaby, following a beautiful watchnight service, it occurred to me to write you this memo. Today, January 1, 2025, marks the beginning of Generation Beta, which will span until December 31, 2039. As the name suggests, it is a generation driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Internet of Things, and technology propelled by the power of new media. This generation envisions virtual reality becoming the default "real world," potentially relegating the physical world to an unnecessary alternative.
You were born three years before the end of what was labeled Generation Alpha. Now, as Gen Beta begins during your formative years, you stand at the intersection of two generations. By the time this generation concludes, you will still be a child, though a teenager of 17 years. It is vital, therefore, that I share with you, as your father, what I believe about these human-defined generations and the eternal, timeless generation to which I believe you belong. Let us anchor this destiny-sensitive conversation within a relevant verse of the Bible and allow the Spirit of God to guide our understanding.
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." — 1 Peter 2:9-10
In the Old Testament, a generation was often understood within a limited timeframe, typically 40 years, marked by specific milestones. Today, generational labeling persists but evolves more rapidly, shaped by orchestrated cultural and social indices. Labels such as Gen Alpha (2010–2024) and the newly named Gen Beta (2025–2039) are defined by societal, cultural, and technological shifts. These designations are deliberate human constructs, reflecting ideological, social, political, and economic interests.
The naming of generations, particularly in the West, is deeply influenced by power centers. These centers employ mechanisms, now accelerated by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and amplified by new media to shape human behavior, especially among children, to conform to predefined generational markers. Once established, these markers dictate societal expectations and predict the characteristics of subsequent generations, creating a cycle of conformity. Such practices echo the old covenant model, where generational identity was tied to temporal frameworks.
In contrast, the New Testament introduces the concept of a “Chosen Generation” (Gen C), transcending time. This generation is anchored in eternal identity and divine choice, made possible by Christ’s sacrifice. Since His death and resurrection, this Chosen Generation has existed, unbound by time, defined by its mission to establish God’s unshakable kingdom in a shakable world. Every follower of Christ is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, empowered to perform groundbreaking exploits and bring transformative change, with the understanding that “the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Daniel 11:32b), and grounded in the truth that, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14) and “You are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13). This calling is further affirmed in the declaration that, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
This eternal generation is called to superimpose its identity and values over human-defined generations, knowing that, “we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Unlike the transient labels such as Gen Z, Gen Alpha, or Gen Beta, the Chosen Generation is constant, enduring, and rooted in God’s divine purpose. Regardless of the era or societal context, its character and mission remain unchanged: to reflect God’s light and glory, bringing His kingdom to bear on earthly realities. This mindset, territorial, dominant, conquering, and non-conforming is the foundation of the civilization we see today.

This idea is eloquently explored by Vishal Mangalwadi in his classic and best-selling book, The Book That Made Your World: How the Bible Created the Soul of Western Civilization, and by Josh McDowell and Sean McDowell in their groundbreaking work, The Unshakable Truth: How You Can Experience the 12 Essentials of a Relevant Faith. These works underscore how a biblical worldview and identity have shaped societies and created the foundation for innovation and progress.
As earlier suggested, human-named generations are often shaped by societal expectations and projections, with cultural and behavioral traits ascribed to them. Socialization practices are designed to ensure conformity to these predictions. In contrast, God’s chosen generation is not bound by human expectations or temporal labels but by His eternal design. It stands above human-defined generations, charged with the responsibility to influence and transform them, aligning their values with the timeless principles of God’s kingdom.
Tieri, as members of this Chosen Generation(Gen C), we are not confined by the limitations of human constructs. Instead, we are called to live out our divine identity, influencing every earthly generation with the unchanging truth of God’s purpose. This is our mission: to transcend the labels of time and align all things with the eternal reality of His kingdom.
Do have INSPIRED years ahead son!
Yours affectionately

1 个月I couldn't agree more!. As musk is to tesla and steve jobs to apple. So is God to humans. Only the creator can best define his creation. A third party definition at the very best still falls short. Great piece! Taiwo AKINLAMI
