Member Spotlight: Jorge Borron

Mr. Borron is responsible for sourcing and underwriting multifamily opportunities in the southeast with a primary focus on North & South Carolina.

Prior to joining Interwest Capital, Jorge worked in Acquisitions for an Orange County based real estate private equity firm. Jorge commenced his career at Matthews REIS, a nationally renowned Commercial Real Estate brokerage, specializing in the acquisition and disposition of Multifamily assets throughout West Los Angeles.

Jorge is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance).

In his free time, he enjoys surfing, golfing, and playing basketball with friends.

Q: How long have you worked at Interwest Capital?

I just recently crossed the three year mark.

Q: What about your job do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy many parts of my job, but the deal process is what I get most excited about. From finding potential investments to analyzing and understanding the unique characteristics of each asset and market, it's a dynamic experience that I really enjoy. It gives me the chance to discover opportunities and sharpen my understanding of how certain assets and markets operate.

Q: What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their career in your field???

Find a good mentor and network as much as you can. I believe mentorship is critical, as having the ability to ask questions, learn from, and discuss scenarios with someone who has been in the industry for quite some time can provide a wealth of knowledge to younger CRE professionals. In a business that’s heavily based on relationships, networking is key and forming relationships with people in all sectors of CRE is incredibly valuable.

Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or activities you enjoy during your free time?

It changes throughout the year but I enjoy surfing, working out, snowboarding, golfing, freediving and hanging out with friends when I am outside the office.
