Melinda Matthews-Clarkson steps down at CodeClan as Loral Quinn takes the reins
CodeClan CEO Melinda Matthews-Clarkson is set to step down after five years leading Scotland’s digital skills academy.
Matthews-Clarkson plans to take a sabbatical in her native United States before pursuing a new position in the Scottish technology ecosystem during 2023.
Replacing her at the helm is Loral Quinn, former co-founder and CEO at Edinburgh-based fintech, Sustainably.
Scottish tech job market maintains strong growth
According to a study from Accenture, the demand for talent in Scotland’s technology sector has increased by more than 200% over the last 12 months.
The UK Tech Talent Tracker report found that this growth was driven largely by demand for skills in several key areas, such as quantum computing, blockchain, cloud computing and data analytics.

Five schools sign up for future leaders programme
Five more Scottish schools are set to join the?Gen+ skills and leadership programme, which aims to ‘equip and inspire the next generation of young Scots to have the skills and confidence to learn, lead, and thrive.’
The Gen+ programme, led by CEO Victoria Vardy, aims to reach more than 360 schools and 290,000 young people within the next five years.
Robotics & AI could play a key role in travel sector recovery
Robotics and AI could play an important role in easing the ongoing staffing crisis across the tourism industry, according to a new report from Traveltech for Scotland.
