Melanie Kenderdine says I should be sued for slander and libel because of my posts about Ernie Moniz.

For the past 6 years I have tried very hard not to be killed. Many, many times I have deleted posts that I was ready to publish because I felt that I was giving MIT's partners of the past 20 years — Vladimir Putin, Russian oil oligarchs, Russian weapon manufacturers, Jeffrey Epstein, the friends of Jeffrey Epstein, the Koch Brothers, and the global oil cartel — the realization that there was more where this came from.

LinkedIn is filled with academics and activists screaming about the environmental horror in store for us if we don't act. This is 99.9% of what "climate communication" means.

I find this bewildering. Does anyone really believe that this is the reason that we have failed to act? As if we will all, en masse, say, "Oh, in that case..." And suddenly we will be doing the things that we so urgently need to do.

Dear Friends, we are failing to act because we are losing a war. And the reason that we are losing that war is because we have been led to believe that we have a single enemy. Big Oil. And while that is generally true, Big Oil has critical support from a variety of friends, two of which are the focus of my report, "How the Koch Brothers Captured MIT (2004-2024)."

David and Charles Koch (who count as one) and Ernest Moniz.

This month is the 20th anniversary of the Koch-MIT conspiracy that I have been investigating for the past 6 years, so it's a perfect time to wrap things up. A few days ago I tried to do just that by engaging the interest of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), now my senator since I moved to Rhode Island eight months ago. Senator Whitehouse has produced over 300 videos focused on the right-wing capture of the Supreme Court and our failure to address the climate crisis. In virtual every one that I've watched, Senator Whitehouse references the Koch Brothers as a fundamental force in the right wing capture of the Supreme Court, and as key players in the opposition to climate action.

Prior to my actual conversation with his team on Monday, it never entered my mind that he and his team would be so profoundly disinterested in my report. "If you send a report, we'll read it." Otherwise not a question, a comment, a sound in response to anything I said.

So, between Senator Whitehouse's disinterest and Melanie Kenderdine's threat of suing me on behalf of Ernie Moniz, and my own fears of being murdered, thank god for Kamala Harris' choice of Tim Walz as her running mate. She was already, in herself, the future we needed. But her retreat on fracking a few weeks ago made me afraid that the corruption that Ernest Moniz brought to Barack Obama's second administration, which passed intact to Joe Biden's administration, would now pass intact to Kamala Harris' administration.

And the prospect of Josh Shapiro, for all his strengths, as vice president, made me worried that compromises with Big Oil would continue to define U.S. energy policy.

I'm still learning about Tim Walz but I trust him already. And I deeply trust the exhilarated look of relief, excitement, and pride I see on Kamala Harris' face when the two of them take the stage together. Politicians do what they are politically able to do. And I trust that Harris-Walz are honest and will do what they can. The rest is up to us.

Which brings us back to Ernest Moniz, Melanie Kenderdine, and my report, "How the Koch Brothers Captured MIT (2004-2024)." But this is enough for one newsletter, don't you think?

Bizarrely, Melanie posted her comment ("And you should be sued for slander and libel") on a post from three months ago (https://lnkd.in/e4iEg4hG). Why that post, and not any of the hundreds I've posted about Ernie over the previous six years, is anyone's guess.

I would even dare to expand on your statement of that we are at war. We are at war because the system allows big companies and basically anyone without moral and enough cash to wage war on anything they perceived to be standing in their way. The system must change and we must have redistribution of wealth.

Elect the less bad ones and then pressure them to have the courage to do the right thing.
