Melani Scruggs Named New Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent/School Board Secretary
Experienced Professional Brings Customer Service to New Role
Somerville, Tennessee (April 4, 2024) – Superintendent Dr. Versie R. Hamlett is pleased to introduce Ms. Melani Scruggs as the newly appointed Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and School Board Secretary. Ms. Scruggs brings a wealth of valuable qualities, including adeptness in fast-paced environments, exceptional customer service proficiency, capability in managing high-pressure situations, and a strong focus on achieving goals.
Ms. Scruggs' diverse background includes serving for two years in the Air Force National Guard and providing direct care supervision to adult clients with intellectual disabilities during her tenure with Volunteers of America. Furthermore, she served as a Community Program Educator for Behavioral Services of Tennessee, demonstrating her commitment to community service and support. A longstanding resident of Fayette County and a dedicated FCPS employee, Ms. Scruggs began her journey in the district in Food Service in August 2017, steadily advancing to the position of Cafeteria Manager. Her capacity to adapt to evolving circumstances, along with her drive to introduce innovative ideas and solutions, positions her as an asset to both the Superintendent's office and the School Board.
Ms. Scruggs conveyed enthusiasm about embracing this new role, expressing her admiration for Fayette County Public Schools and her gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the district's success.
