Megatrends and the Next generation of Female Leaders

Megatrends and the Next generation of Female Leaders

I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know one of the participants from the Women on Boards Nextgen program, Hannah Smith, late last year.

The great thing about the NextGen program is that it involves meeting with and interviewing senior leaders/CEO’s both within and outside the participants respective organisations.

Hannah and her syndicate focused on the CSIRO megatrends report https://www.csiro.au/en/Do-business/Futures/Reports/Our-Future-World and asked business leaders whether they felt these megatrends were relevant to them and what they planned to implement to prepare their organisation.

Overall, I found the project to be incredibly informative and insightful and created an invaluable opportunity for the participants to have conversations with senior leaders and CEO’s that they may not otherwise have had access to. Most importantly it acted as a catalyst for those involved to start to have more influence on where their careers are going.

For anyone that would like to get involved here is the link to Next Generation of Female Leaders program which is currently accepting applications.

One of the interesting questions the NextGen participants asked CEO’s was, what were the trends in their industry that were not listed by CSIRO? The chart above shows a summary of the results.

Speaking to Hannah led me to start thinking a lot about similar questions.

For anyone in my network reading this, it would be great to hear about what the megatrends are in your industry and for those who are leaders in your business, what are your plans in 2019 to deal with megatrends? To any business women in middle management in corporate Australia, NextGen is a great opportunity and program to participate in to gain more influence, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re interested. Applications close on Friday.
