T-Series was founded on July 11, 1983, by Gulshan Kumar, a fruit juice seller from the Daryaganj neighborhood of Delhi. Gulshan Kumar’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for music drove him to create a company that would revolutionize the Indian music industry.

The company’s first major breakthrough came in 1988 with the release of the soundtrack for the Bollywood blockbuster “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,” composed by Anand-Milind and written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The album became one of the best-selling Indian music albums of the 1980s, selling over 8 million copies. This success established T-Series as a major player in the music industry.

Growth and Expansion

Tragically, Gulshan Kumar was murdered on August 12, 1997. In 2006, T-Series launched its YouTube channel, which has since become the most-subscribed and most-viewed channel on the platform. As of June 2024, the T-Series YouTube channel boasts over 267 million subscribers and 257 billion views. The company’s success on YouTube has been driven by its extensive library of music videos, film trailers, and other entertainment content.
