Meeting the needs of the growing closure market in the UK

After developing a successful product range for the French FTTH home market for many years, Omelcom has decided to expand its international base.

Success in Germany is now being followed by a determined market entry into the UK - the other main fast-growing European market. Following increasing interest from the Altnets, Omelcom has been adapting its range to meet the needs of the individual operators. In addition, it also offers short lead-times at a time when products are often in short supply.

As the diagrams below show,?Omelcom’s range covers network distribution both outside and inside the building, including the increasing trend towards MDUs (Multi-dwelling Units) amongst the Altnets as well as SDUs (Single–dwelling Units).

?Outside the building, Omelcom offers two products:

• Amphibox is ideal for optical fibre underground distribution, being waterproof (IP68) and comes in five different sizes.
• ASN (Aerial Subscriber Node) will be available in 2 sizes.
• Distri-Protect? has proved to be popular for the UK market. It is typically used on poles and can be supplied pre-connected, also in two sizes.

Inside the building, Omelcom’s range covers the individual needs of both SDUs and MDUs:

• LUNA is available in three sizes. It can be used in the basement and/or on each floor of an MDU
• Optical Termination Outlet (OTO) Kits are available as surface-mounted installations in either SDUs or individual apartments in an MDU
• OT'Home product is an all-in-one outlet, designed to bring fibre to wherever it is needed in the home, regardless of the configuration.

To verify and test all your indoor and outdoor closures, Omelcom offers 2 different VFLs (visual fault locators). They enable you to audit the compliance of an optical route from your smartphone, saving both time and money on alternative more labour-intensive solutions:

• Ludoptic Mini, a two-laser tool
• Ludoptic, an optical drawer of 24 laser
