Q: Julian, welcome back to YT! After successfully passing your master craftsmen examination in March 2022, you have now started working for us again in the workshop. Congratulations from our side. We are proud of you and of course happy to have you back in our team. Tell us something about your reasons for wanting to become a Master craftsman's bike mechanic?

A: After successfully completing my apprenticeship as a bicycle mechatronics technician, I soon realised that I wanted to further deepen and expand my specialist knowledge. When I was also given the opportunity to rejoin YT as a Team Lead after my further training, it was clear to me that the Master craftsman's examination degree was the right next step for me. I am happy to be back and would like to thank YT and the Leadership Team again for this opportunity!

Q: You completed an apprenticeship with us from Sep 2018 - Aug 2020 and have now added the Master craftsman's examination on top of that. What exactly did the Master craftsman's examination involve? What did you enjoy most about it and what can you bring to YT from it?

A: The Master craftsman's examination is divided into 4 parts. Parts 1 and 2 include specialised theory and practice. The tests focus on job-specific topics that are related to everyday life in a (bicycle) workshop, as well as technical knowledge.?

Parts 3 and 4 must be taken equally by all master craftsmen examination and include economic and legal as well as vocational and occupational pedagogical basics.

In addition to the technical and bicycle-specific content of the further training, I was particularly pleased with the vocational and work-pedagogical part. The Master craftsman's examination title entitles you to train in the trade. I would like to bring this skill to YT and would be happy if we as a workshop team could welcome another apprentice in the future.

Q: Now you have come back to us as Team Lead Workshop. What are you most looking forward to again at YT in your role?

A: I'm looking forward to developing the workshop with our ever-growing workshop team and achieving future goals together. The odd after-work ride with colleagues would be a nice bonus!?
