Meet your next Superstar Marketing hire: AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to become your next Marketing superstar, and in the near future, it may even surpass the capabilities of some of your Marketing Leaders (although ChatGPT assures me that it will always need me!). As someone who's experienced the benefits of using AI firsthand to augment my Marketing team and budget, I wanted to share my journey and help other leaders get started–?
At first I used AI as a simple copy editor and used it to check my writing for voice, flow, and grammar, but I quickly realized its much greater potential. When I was tasked with writing a bio for my company's founder under an extremely tight deadline, I turned to ChatGPT for help.
I had no idea if it would work. The clock was ticking, so I spent the first 30 minutes hurriedly pulling together a frankensteined mess of thoughts which I then dumped into ChatGPT. Seconds later, the AI-powered tool had produced a clean, well-written draft that I was able to quickly arrange and polish. All in, it took me an hour– a task that would have taken three or four times as long without the help of AI. To be clear, it was created based on my research, inputs, and thoughts– it was my work, but exponentially more efficiently crafted. I was hooked, so I kept experimenting with ChatGPT and found that content development is just one of a myriad of day to day Marketing tasks that can be radically accelerated by using this technology.?

Over the past six months, I've integrated AI solutions, including Jasper, Midjourney, and ChatGPT, into various aspects of my marketing efforts. These tools have enabled me to streamline lead generation campaigns, optimize content for SEO, and quickly brainstorm new marketing strategies, campaigns, emails, and assets. AI has become a valuable and trusted colleague, and I highly recommend that startup founders ask their Head of Marketing how they are leveraging AI to maximize budget and resources. And if you're interviewing for a marketing role, be prepared to share your own ideas on how AI can help increase efficiency and drive results.
Just as the internet democratized the retail storefront, AI is paving the way for a new era of innovation and business opportunity. We are at the beginning of the next generational shift in technology. And, while AI may not replace your Head of Marketing, it is certainly poised to become one of your Marketing MVPs (Most Valuable Players) by augmenting your team, tackling challenges, pinpointing opportunities, and perpetually learning and adapting.
Stay tuned for my next article where we'll dive into the significant impact that AI-driven technologies are having on MarTech across three fundamental pillars: Customer Data, Content Creation, and Analytics.?

1 年Excellent insights Jocelyn DeGance Not only does AI technology allow for more efficient content creation and campaign optimization, but it also frees up time to focus on higher-level strategy and creative work. But as far as I'm concerned, I only have two questions that I am curiously researching and also waiting to unfold by time: 1. How can we strike a balance between technology and humanity? 2. How can we ensure we're using AI to augment our work rather than replace it?
