Meet you where you are

Almost every other person you meet is a founder and owner of a company, or even multiple companies. We see more and more people doing big things and the pressure only gets worse. It is ridiculous how much we expect from ourselves based on what others are doing. And it is foolish to measure one’s success based on comparing what one is doing that another isn’t doing.

Why do we forget about what we want? Suddenly we all want to be business owners, be married, have kids. We want to own this, do that and go there. We watch the same shows, listen to the same music.

So much FOMO

It’s exhausting.

True fulfillment comes from meeting yourself where you are. Is what you’re doing fulfilling you? Does it speak to the person that you are? Are you doing it for you?

Well…

I hope it makes you happy. I hope today you can say, “I’m grateful to be me.”

I hope you are not afraid to listen to the music you love or watch your favourite shows.

I hope you do not hide any more of yourself. I hope you can walk away from things that waste your time – it’s okay to cancel plans to stay home with your cat you know?

You are meant to be you. You are the only person you will spend all of your life with. I hope that brought a smile on face.
