Meet you in VR?

There is a ton of discussion about AI these days. Can we talk about VR for a minute? A colleague of mine and I meet every couple of weeks for thirty minutes on Zoom to catch up on all things life and work. Yesterday, we moved that meeting to VR. I’ve been enjoying a virtual oil painting application to occupy myself and relax after work (Winter evenings are the worst). Today we met in the virtual art studio and painted on our respective canvases while we chatted. It was fun to see each other avatars in motion. We talked about the app we were in and compared “painting” techniques while catching up on work and life. It was amazing. 

I don’t know about you but two years of meeting on Zoom has exhausted me. Different is good. This was great. As a bonus, my avatar is always camera ready - me not so much.

How are you leveraging VR? I know walking meetings are popular (but again Winter). Any other creative ideas to move away from the head-in-a-box view we’ve been living with these past few years? 

For the record, in-person is my preference but not always a viable option.
