Going Digital to increase Customer Satisfaction and grow revenues

Capgemini Consulting consumer survey conducted in 2016 shows a majority of customers claim that Digital is their preferred channel for interaction, consider their operators are not fulfilling their expectations and would consider switching to a pure Digital player providing a best in class Digital experience. The survey also shows that operators which have successfully switched to Digital enjoy highest NPS in their respective markets. Network Function Virtualization transformation (NFV)

The telecom industry is facing the biggest disruption, leading to a revolution in the hundred plus year old industry. Telecom networks are migrating from traditional hardware centric deployments to the software running in the cloud. Service agility, operational flexibility and cost optimization are the three key drivers which form the backbone to network virtualization. But how to tackle this massive transformation? Which technologies to select? What impact on operator core processes? What does it mean in terms of skills? What are the priorities? What is the Business Case?

As an example, Capgemini will present how a full MVNO could be deployed very quickly.

How to monetize the Internet of Things opportunity?

While Telco have their own critical parts of the infrastructure in place to help enable innovative services in IoT, and strong brands, the competition will still be fierce. Telcos will need to find ways to monetize services in the face of competition from established over-the-top (OTT) service providers with strong consumer connections, as well as a host of new players wanting a slice of the IoT pie. Capgemini experts will show a wide number of use cases in a very large number of sectors and share their vision on roles operators could play.

Interesting topics! As "going digital" represents one of the key objectives for most of the executives, it will be interesting to see what companies should do in order to successfully manage the transition process. A road to that objective definitely represents a mix of different complex strategies. Looking forward to your updates and insights from the upcoming MWC!

Very interesting topics Hovsep. Embracing NFV will not be easy for network operators as the culture created in decades of procuring and building networks in the traditional way may put up strong resistance to the kinds of changes. Nevertheless network operators that successfully will overcome these challenges will find themselves in a far better position than they are in today to compete with OTT services and with aggressive new entrants into the network business
