Meet up With Team Member Nicolas Vandeputte

It was during his master's degree in electronic engineering, which he completed at Polytechnique Montreal, that Nicolas worked for the first time on a medical device: urinary stimulation implants.

This project inspired him to specialise in medical electronics and to dedicate his career to it.??

Upon his return to France, he moved to Montpellier in the south of France, a particularly dynamic city with a multitude of start-ups specializing in the medical innovation sector. There he worked in several companies and was recognised for his technical expertise in the design of electro-medical devices, particularly in the field of radiology and other medical fields.??

Nicolas joined Zimmer Biomet Robotics in 2018. In 2020, our research and development teams decided to introduce Agile into their project management methodology and reorganized resources to maximize team efficiency.

In this new structure, Nicolas quickly found his place by becoming Product Owner (PO), a role that allowed him to act as a project manager and to get closer to the technical aspect at the heart of his job.??

Nicolas is particularly proud to have participated in the development of ROSA ONE. This solution allows neurosurgeons to obtain a level of precision unmatched by traditional methods, to significantly reduce the risk of cerebral hemorrhages, and to significantly improve the precision, the duration of surgeries, and the reduction of recovery time.

He finds it particularly stimulating to be able to co-develop these solutions with surgeons and hospitals with cutting-edge practices.???

On a daily basis, Nicolas finds his motivation in the impact his work has on the patients who benefit from it and in observing what he calls "small miracles", i.e., the results of ROSA-assisted surgical procedures that improve the quality of life of thousands of patients around the world.??
