Meet the Trader - Simon Stokes

Internal and external comms, creating those little snippets. How do your remote and multicultural teams gel? Does it matter? HR policies.
Everyone knows about how good the burgers are but what about Simon Stokes himself? This is what we found out.
Simon’s no stranger to working with the public. He’s done markets for years and before that he did the fairgrounds run by Pat Collins and the Jones’s to name just a couple. This has taken him to many interesting places shall we say. But how did that all come about? Well, Simon’s from a family who have worked this way going as far back as his Dad’s Grandad, who at the time lived in Lower Gornal.
Simon works with food all the time and we wondered what he would eat when going to a restaurant with his wife and three young children. Steak was the answer. He didn’t talk about yachts or tons of holidays when asked where he would like to be in 10 years time. Just making a living would be alright for him so long as he still gets to play golf.
Simon’s from Cradley Heath so he’s definitely Black Country through and through. So is a lot of his family and Walsall’s William Corbett who the writer has met in Katz is not only a relative of Simon but also made the catering van you are looking at.
There was a time that Simon’s family moved over to Coventry though. Not sure for how long but they did return anyway and maybe that how he came to support Coventry City. He's into football and used to play for the West Midlands Fairground side. Interestingly, if Simon has the Sky Blues colours anywhere at work they are pretty well hidden. You can find Simon trading on The Saddlers car park every week.
