Meet the Team: Teshan

Tell me a bit about the beginning of your career and when you started at Titan.

My journey with Titan actually began long before I joined the company in 2019. I first heard about Titan when I was attending high school in Italy, flicking through an aviation magazine! There was an article about Titan acquiring their 757, and I remember being immediately intrigued—the name had such a strong presence. It planted a seed in my mind that eventually grew into a career with them.?

I began my journey as a Titan pilot in December 2019, initially as a Trainee First Officer on the Airbus 320. Unfortunately, by February 2020, I had to step away from my role due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, during my time away, I maintained regular contact with Titan, and particularly with Matt Willson. Fortunately, I was able to return to Titan in July 2021 when operations began to pick up again.?

Currently, I am a Senior First Officer on the A330.

Did you always want to be a Pilot?

Yes! It might sound a bit cliché, but I've always wanted to be a pilot. It was my dad’s dream first actually—he’s incredibly passionate about all things aviation. Although he never had the opportunity to pursue his dream, he passed his passion and love for planes on to me. From the moment I was born, he told my mum that I would one day become a pilot. We also spent countless hours plane spotting, which only fuelled my ambition further.?

The day I flew the A330 for the first time, my whole family gathered at Stansted in the spotting area to watch my landing. It was a lovely moment for all of us.

Have there been any particularly memorable moments since being at Titan??

Previously, on the A320 I have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of operations, from flying football teams to conducting charter flights. One of the highlights of my career was in April 2023 when I was fortunate enough to embark on an around-the-world trip. We spent just short of a month traveling to incredible destinations like Seattle, Hawaii, Australia, Thailand, Dubai, and Italy. I had an incredible time exploring each location, and an amazing crew to share the experiences with. These trips were truly unforgettable. While in Sydney, I even booked a flight to Melbourne to visit my cousins, who I hadn’t seen in years!?

You started at Titan in 2019. Has the company changed much in that time?

Definitely. The most significant change from my perspective has been the shift to an all-Airbus fleet, which marked the end of our Boeing operations—a major transition for the company.?

Titan is continually growing, and in 2022, whilst supporting the recruitment team for pilots, I witnessed firsthand the huge bounce-back in the aviation industry post-COVID. We've also added a wide-body cargo aircraft to our operations, which is a new and exciting development.

Titan isn’t your standard airline; our variety of operations requires a high degree of flexibility. It’s such a dynamic environment which I think really helps our team to thrive and means no two days are the same.?
