Meet The Team: Shane Dobney

1. My role at Moneytech is... Senior Credit Manager?
2. I joined Moneytech because... The business has strong growth ambitions. As such, it was a great opportunity that has enabled me to have engagement in things like product and policy development. I really enjoy being involved with working capital financing. I felt like my industry experience could make a difference at Moneytech the same time as giving me opportunities to grow and learn.
3. A day in the life: My typical day at work involves... My day is almost divided into two. I work through any credit submissions that need to be decisioned, engaging with my credit colleagues or our business development managers as necessary. Then there'll be arrears matters to follow up. That gets supplemented with reporting to the Executive team, our insurers and even the Government. It's never dull!
4. The most fun part of my role is... The drive home. Who doesn't enjoy real-life dodgem cars on Punt Rd in Melbourne? Otherwise, we have a great team. Although we're all busy, there's always time for a laugh.
5. When I am not working, I am... Hanging out with my wife and our golden retriever. Both of them enjoy a visit to Yarra Valley wineries. Beyond that, it's quite likely I'm playing golf.

1. Something I am planning to do that I have never done... Shoot under par for 18 holes of golf. Noting that I need some more lessons!
2. If I were to write a book about myself, I would name it... 30 Years in Banking & Finance - How'd That Happen?
3. If I had one superpower it would be... Time travel. It would be nice to go back and correct a few mistakes. And then skip forward and get next week's Powerball numbers.
4. Some words of wisdom from me if you've made it this far... Don't compromise your integrity. The people that matter in life will respect you for it. Other than that, black clothes and a golden retriever aren't a good mix.
