Meet the Team: Mihai Chirila

This week, we caught up with?Mihai Chirila, External Lead UI / UX Consultant at Linklaters | CreateiQ. He tells us what led him into a career in legal tech and his interests and motivations.

What interests you in Legal Tech? The Legal Tech field is one of the industries with the biggest potential for innovation.

By leveraging technology, we can develop tools that empower individuals to navigate legal complexities more effectively. Furthermore, the prospect of incorporating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics into legal processes excites me. These technologies can contribute to better decision-making, predictive analysis, and a deeper understanding of legal trends.

What makes you happy at work? What brings me joy at work is the realisation that my daily efforts, focused on enhancing the UI and UX of CreateiQ, have a tangible impact on people's lives. Knowing that I contribute to making a positive difference keeps me motivated and fulfilled in my role.

What do you do on your commute to/from work? My commute is my daily dose of tech and science excitement! I'm hooked on AI and Blockchain podcasts, soaking up the latest insights. Also, Neil Degrasse Tyson and Brian Cox make science an adventure with their videos. It's my happy space, turning my commute into a fun learning journey! ??????

What is your most unusual or interesting moment whilst working at CreateiQ? I would describe this whole year as the “golden” moment for our CreateiQ design team. What we are working on currently represents the biggest leap in terms of our platform visual look and user experience and I’m eagerly waiting for our next version launch so we can share it all with our amazing clients.

If you could invent any new tech to make your life better, what would it be? If I had the chance to create a groundbreaking technology to enhance my life, it would be an advanced AI entity capable of inventing all the necessary tech to address global challenges. This innovation would usher us into an era of abundance, freeing us to explore the wonders of the universe and fostering a world focused on discovery and exploration.

What was your journey to your current role? My journey to my current role in UI/UX design has been a fascinating evolution that spans back to the early 2000s when I first immersed myself in the world of design using early versions of Photoshop. What started as a playful exploration soon transformed into a serious commitment when I began crafting website designs for a friend's agency, marking the inception of my full-time career in UI/UX.

Over the years, my professional path has taken me through the dynamic landscape of European Interactive Agencies. I've had the privilege of contributing to diverse industries, ranging from retail and hospitality (HoReCa) to Real Estate and Finance. This breadth of experience has not only honed my skills in UI/UX but has also allowed me to navigate the unique challenges and creative opportunities presented by different sectors.

It's been a rewarding journey of continuous learning and adaptation, from the early days of experimenting with design tools to becoming a seasoned professional crafting engaging and user-centric experiences across various industries.

Three dream dinner party guests and why? I'd love to have Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Michael Saylor at my dream dinner party. Elon's incredible vision for technology and space, Sam's insights as an investor and entrepreneur, coupled with his role at OpenAI, and Michael's expertise in the cryptocurrency realm would make for the most engaging and captivating conversations.
