Meet the Team: Maddie Pye - Luxury Executive

This week we spoke with Maddie Pye, Luxury Executive here at John Pye Auctions to ask her a few questions and find out more about here role here!

How would you describe what you do at John Pye to a Martian?

I receive, help authenticate, describe, and process designer clothing, accessories, and footwear from a range of vendors, including the Police, and enter them into our bi-weekly auctions. I also liaise with vendors and customers post and prior to auction end to ensure all parties are satisfied with our service.

How long have you worked for John Pye Auctions?

I have worked at John Pye for 4 years, it will be 5 in February 2023! I started working in Marchington’s cash office. I then worked in the Coffee lounge, then onto marketing in Nottingham for just over a year and into my current position here in the Nottingham Luxury Department.

If you were not in the role you currently are, what would you be doing instead?

I would aim to be a property developer; I have always been interested in architecture and interior design.

Who inspires you most and why?

I have a few idols, but I’d say My Grandma inspires me the most – she’s very respected, generous and wise but she also won’t take any rubbish, no matter who it’s from.

How would your best friend describe you?

Straightforward, charismatic, and compassionate. I had to ask!

What’s your favourite film?

I’m a huge fan of any Quentin Tarantino Film but Kill Bill have to take the top mark.

What was the last song you listened to on Spotify/Apple Music?

Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Dani California

What is your biggest indulgence?

Holidays where I can enjoy cocktails by a peaceful pool.

What's one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?

Don’t overthink and worry about things you can’t control.

What’s the best thing about working at John Pye Auctions?

It’s like a big family, I enjoy spending time in different offices from time to time as the conversations always make me laugh. I’ve met some of my closest friends here.
