Meet the Team: Hannah Peissel

Meet the team! Hannah Peissel, our Marketing Executive.?Find out more about Hannah and her role at James Fisher Subtech.

Could you provide a brief overview of your career history prior to James Fisher Subtech ?

I joined James Fisher and Sons Plc as an administration assistant in the marketing team on a three-month temporary contract. A CIM qualification, promotion to Marketing Executive and countless opportunities later, I have had the pleasure of working in the central marketing team for five years supporting any and all marketing activities for a handful of the Plc’s group companies – including Fendercare Marine, Asset Information Services and James Fisher Mimic to name a few! Most recently, I have jumped across to support James Fisher Subtech, James Fisher Renewables and James Fisher Rumic’s marketing efforts alongside the most welcoming team. I’m extremely grateful to have uniquely gained experience across so many sectors within the same company, making some great friends along the way!

What are your core roles and responsibilities?

My core roles and responsibilities are to primarily support the marketing activities for James Fisher Subtech, James Fisher Renewables and James Fisher Rumic. From events management (which I love), to social media management, to copywriting, to internal communications, to brand building and everything in between!

In your opinion, what are the most exciting opportunities coming up, within the sectors you support, and where do you see James Fisher Subtech having the greatest impact?

For James Fisher Subtech, the team are making significant waves (pardon the pun) with their specialist diving and UXO capabilities across both the oil and gas and renewables sectors. The team’s knowledge and expertise within these areas are phenomenal, showcasing decades of experience and employing innovative techniques to protect marine life and the environment.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up, I had a new dream each week about what I wanted to be when I was older. Decision-making has never been my forte. One week I wanted to become a vet, the next a dentist. From a medic in the Navy to a flight attendant for Emirates! My dissertation at university was even about ‘aspirational geographies’, a study comparing the future aspirations of children living in the UK to those in South Africa!?

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I love to travel, immersing myself in local culture and seeing the sites as I go! Recently, I have started to explore my love for gardening and floristry! I’m even building a make-shift floristry studio in my garage – if a shelf of jars and a few buckets of flowers count? I also work as a part time carer within my local community. For the few hours a week that I’m out and about, hearing about the life stories of others and putting a smile on someone’s face is the most rewarding thing of all!

What book are you reading / podcast are you listening to/TV show are you watching at the moment??

I do love a good TV series and am embarrassed to say how many times I’ve watched the US Office! Currently, I’m making my way through Parks and Recreation, another classic that I fully recommend!
