Meet Gabriel Festini , the Growth Marketing Lead at Food Service Direct! Gabriel brings unparalleled expertise to the table, crafting innovative campaigns that elevate our brand and drive results. Learn more about his experience and expertise in the field in our short Q&A below! ??

Q: Where did your interest in growth marketing begin? Can you tell us a bit about when and how you got into it?

A: I've always been close to the idea of being there for people. It turns out that marketing is very similar to that. You do represent a company but you are most importantly trying to understand your existing and future customers as a friend would, to give them the best advice, recommend the best products and overall being by their side on their journey. I got into it for the human and creative side that appealed to my personality and I am always grateful when I see the positive reception and impact of my marketing efforts!

Q: Have you had any previous professional experience with growth marketing? If so, how does it compare to your current work in the food industry?

A: I have worked most of my career in growth marketing, in completely different fields ranging from architecture to future-tech. The food industry is where you get the greatest mix of fields. They start in the kitchen but end up all the way to AI. I also love the fact that food is something that every single human has a unique connection to. Our marketing team at FSD always loves to explore that!

Q: What is the most important tip for successful growth marketing that you have learned throughout your career?

A: Understanding your customers is the minimum and the most common tip but I would say: "cherish your clients". Create an environment that makes them feel at home, where everything is simple and easy to access just like in your own space. Your customer journey must feel like a pleasant trip, not a hassle.

Q: Are there any marketing campaigns you have seen that have left a significant impression on you? If so, what made it special?

A: I have seen a lot more companies using memes in their marketing visuals lately. Not all of them are handled well but it is a very interesting trend that ties into a massive cultural item that binds entire generations together. I am very excited when I see a marketing team using them well and with success.

Q: What would you say is the most important aspect of running a successful marketing campaign?

A: Authenticity! With the amount of generic marketing campaigns that are spread in the wild every minute, it is harder than ever to stand out. Your DNA is what makes you stand out. Your authentic message without fancy marketing slang will resonate deeper with your target and create longer lasting bonds with them.
