Meet The Team: Erin Bray

Talk me through your career to date??

I've now enjoyed just over two years with the Woolworths Group in the commercial team! For me, joining Woolworths represented a huge career change having moved from several years of Vet Nursing.?

I started my career in Woolworths as a Category Assistant on the Non Food side of the business, joining the fast paced Pet Care Category. My onboarding with Woolworths was an incredible experience & I often look back on that with ample gratitude to my team who really set me up for success with a supportive culture; sharing their insights, learnings and guidance from their experience in the Commercial Team. During my time in that role I was responsible for providing administrative support to my team on everything from Brochure & In-Store execution to Master Data for new and existing products in our range.

Most recently, I have been so fortunate to be in the Assistant Category Manager In Training Program. It was such an exciting opportunity to join this program and have the support of the business to progress my development towards an ACM Role. I have been working alongside the Breakfast Team, with a focus on the Muesli Bars subcategory, and the support from the team has been unwavering & incredible during my time on the program.?

What made you interested in a career in Buying??

There's a really meaningful element to being able to make decisions & contribute to strategies that not only bring great value to our customers but also supports the Woolworths vision.

What impact does your role have on Woolworths Group?

As an Assistant Category Manager we have a significant impact on the business and to our customers. We are responsible for creating promotional strategies & implementing promotional plans that not only cater to our customers, but ensure we are maximising sales, profit and share of the market. An exciting part of the role is working end to end with the wider Woolworths team, to ensure that we are executing a best in class standard of our promotional plans & category events! It's really rewarding to see how the hard work & collaboration comes to life instores and being able to deliver something meaningful for our customers!

What excites you about the future of Woolworths??

There are many incredible teams working hard behind the scenes at Woolworths to deliver some really exciting initiatives for our business, customers & their communities. The adaptation of the business during COVID conditions was fast paced & showcased our resilience as a team. Looking back on what we have been able to achieve during these times, it really excites me for the future of Woolworths.?

Tell us about your team??

They are the BEST! Most of my time in the team has been WFH, but there has never been a moment where I have felt disconnected or lost, and that really is a credit to the incredible team & the culture here at Woolworths. We all work very collaboratively and there's no hesitation to support different teams when the workload increases or we are facing a new challenge. I'm so fortunate to have formed some amazing friendships thanks to the Woolworths Group Team.?

What makes you proud to work here??

I'm proud to be a part of a team who constantly works to deliver market leading plans with the customer in mind, we are achieving amazing things everyday and it's so rewarding to be a part of. The focus on team culture & development of our team is a stand out, as well as the support of the business during recent COVID conditions makes me extremely proud. We have been so supported to ensure we have flexibility, work/life balance & constant support which is amazing.?

What do you love doing in your downtime??

I love to spend time with my dogs, lifting weights in the gym & a Harry Potter film occasionally!
