Meet Danielle Arrington , Food Service Direct's Creative Content Manager! With her talent and creativity, she brings visual harmony to every design, making our brand distinct and eye-catching at every corner. Learn more about her experience in the design field in the short Q&A below!

Q1: Where did you first discover your passion for graphic design?

I’ve had a love for the arts as a whole since I was a toddler. I’d always been interested in drawing and creating. Funnily enough, my interest in graphic design bloomed in middle school while helping my mom make flyers for the elementary school where she worked. I hated the outdated fonts and clipart, and had fun making something that looked fun and interesting.

Q2: Is there a particular type of media you enjoy creating for most? If so, why?

We’re constantly surrounded by screens all day long. I love designing for print when I can, especially things that come in a set. I enjoy being able to stretch a design across flyers, postcards, packaging, and merch and have it all sit together nicely.

Q3: Can you briefly describe your creative process? What are some of the major steps involved in it?

In corporate design, there often isn’t much time to really sit with a project and create something new each time. What’s most important is making sure I understand what the main purpose of the project is and who’s going to see it. You have to know who your audience is and the best way to get information across quickly. A lot of the time, less is more.

Q4: What is one of your favorite pieces or projects you have designed since working at FSD?

One of my favorite projects overall has been designing for our private label, KITCH 24/7. We went through several names, logo designs, and brand identities before settling on a look and as the line grows, so do the opportunities to push those designs and really define the brand.

Q5: Who or what would you say are some of your biggest sources of creative inspiration? What about them resonates with you?

Although I’m a designer, I also enjoy illustrating in my free time, so a lot of my inspiration comes from artists who have similar interests and don’t limit their creativity to one medium. I really enjoy artists like ?Huyen Dinh, Vashti Harrison, and Anoosha Syed, and I always try to stay current on design trends by reading articles on Eye On Design, Creative Bloom, and Design Week.?
