What responsibilities does your job entail and what does an average day look like?

My role is to provide customer services for import cargoes and to make sure all of the procedures that need to happen for containers?to enter the Port of Thessaloniki do so smoothly and to plan. That means even an average day is challenging, but that there’s a certain satisfaction at the end of it??

What was your path to your current position?

There’s a history of working with the port in my family and it felt like a good fit for me to follow that same path.

What are the main changes you’ve seen in your field since you began and how do you see it evolving? What changes would you like to see?

We’ve seen rapid advancements in technology used for data processing, but I think there are more improvements that we as an industry need to implement to resolve information flow challenges. ??

What do you like most about your job and what would you like people considering a career in your area to know about it?

The thing that I like most about my job is the opportunities it brings to collaborate with colleagues and the teamwork involved in making sure services meet and exceed customer expectations. For those thinking about this type of career, I’d speak from experience and try to get across the excellent working environment that exists in this sector.
