Meet the Team: Charlotte

If you’re in the UK events scene, you’ve most likely seen an Evolution Dome, Airoof or even Office Pod at some point. Designed for exhibitions, live events and more, we often talk about the ease and convenience the structures provide to organisers. However, behind the scenes, there is a dedicated team that we couldn’t do this without - we think it’s time to show them some appreciation.

This month, we say hello to finance, payroll & accounts manager Charlotte and learn more about how she keeps things working smoothly behind the scenes.

What is your role and how long have you worked for Evolution Dome

“I’ve been with Evolution Dome for over seven years as the finance, Payroll & Accounts Manager. As part of my role, I’m responsible for customer service and general accounts including VAT, Payroll and account management and more!”?

What are your favourite types of events to work and why?

“It has to be brand activations; They bring out the creative side of the industry. I love to see a client’s vision come to life with a bespoke/branded structure. There is something about a branded cover that I think adds that extra ‘wow factor’ to the events, especially when in the hands of a client who looks for the bigger picture.”

What do you enjoy most about working with Evolution Dome?

“From looking after the accounts and sales in the office to meeting different people within our industry at shows, no two days are ever the same. The variety of the workload keeps each day fresh and exciting.

Sometimes I join the crew on-site to assist with installs and de-rigs. There are a lot of elements about the event industry and what we do that you simply can’t learn about from behind a desk; Events encompass a huge range of activities and challenges,? so it’s important to understand common needs and challenges along with how they may differ by event type. This hands-on approach has given me a stronger understanding of how the structures work when recommending them to potential clients.”

Tell us a fact about yourself.

“I love to run! Over the years, I have found it has really helped my welfare and overall life - it does just the job of getting a clear headspace.

So far, I have completed six half marathons and one full marathon. My next goal? I’ve signed up for the Milton Keynes Marathon marathon next year!”

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Working for Evolution Dome over the last seven years has been great. I started with little experience but now, I can manage financial accounts and process the monthly payroll - something I never studied for. Throughout my time here I’ve learned a great deal about myself and had so many fantastic opportunities to learn with great support from my director and colleagues.?

Work should not feel like a chore, and it certainly doesn't when working with Evolution Dome. The team is built on a solid support system and I enjoy working alongside each and every one of them.”
